Beach Sprint rowing is one of the most dynamic and spectator-friendly formats in modern rowing. Athletes start with a short beach run, launch through the surf, sprint a 500-meter slalom course, and then charge back up the sand to hit the finish button. The combination of surf conditions, speed, agility, and head-to-head racing makes Beach Sprints fast, unpredictable, and thrilling for both competitors and audiences.

With its high-intensity, short-format style and global reach, Beach Sprint racing has been officially added to the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.

The button is designed around the CrewTimer ecosystem.

The Hardware

Sun, sand, and big athletes pouncing at the button — not an easy operating environment. The Niobium Beach Sprint Button (NBSB) is built from high-quality materials to survive it. The package consists of:

• Large mushroom-style push button — same as seen at the World Championships. Comes with a 3-meter cable and a high-quality connector.
• Electronics enclosure — contains a custom PCB, CrewTimer hardware, and the buzzer.

Not included: a USB-C PD power bank. I recommend the INIU 20,000 mAh.
